Amber Insurance Services first opened its doors in 2010 by founder, Gurv S. Anand. Originally moving to Illinois in 1993 for an executive position with an employee benefits consulting firm, Gurv already had significant insurance industry experience as an actuarial consultant. When the opportunity arose to start an entrepreneurial enterprise, Gurv was excited to share his knowledge and expertise with his clients.
He started out as an agency owner for a large national carrier in 2003 but came to realize that he couldn’t provide his clientele the options and quality of product(s) that they deserved. He closed the agency, obtained appointments from many national insurance carriers, integrated his consulting style and now provides unparalleled brokerage services for the residents of Illinois.
Even with its significant success, Amber Insurance Services remains a small brokerage firm with Gurv himself, involved with every client. Because he believes that every customer deserves the very best protection for themselves and their family, every portfolio is continuingly reviewed for gaps and quality.

GURV ANAND
Gurv S. Anand, President and Owner of Amber Insurance Services has several years of experience in the insurance industry. The experience includes consulting to individuals and businesses for clients of insurance brokerage firms, as a resident in four countries. For the past seven years, he owned and operated an insurance agency, selling personal and business products, exclusively for one carrier. As a result of gaining vast experience, he has now established an independent insurance brokerage firm that represents several reputable carriers. The firm is able to offer products for all lines of insurance to individuals and businesses.
ELAINE MICKEL
Elaine Mickel, Office Manager and Head of Accounts for Amber Insurance Services is a licensed insurance professional. Since joining the industry in 2004, Elaine and Gurv have worked together closely.
Prior to entering the field of insurance, Elaine was a valued bank officer and gained considerable knowledge. This experience made an ease of communication for her between the insurance and banking industries.
Elaine is Amber Insurance Services’ primary customer service representative, revising customer’s policies as needed and answering any customer concerns. Elaine’s other duties include quoting for several lines of insurance and accounting for the agency.
